HUB Digital is an advanced digital platform designed to promote innovation, digital transformation, and pedagogical excellence across the higher education landscape. Developed as a central repository for educational resources, training courses, teaching tools, and pedagogical methodologies, the platform serves as a collaborative hub for educators, researchers, and institutions.

Our Mission

Our mission is to empower the academic community by providing open, high-quality resources and training that foster the development of digital skills, modern teaching practices, and collaborative learning environments. By bridging technology and pedagogy, HUB Digital aims to:

  • Democratize Access: Provide open-access catalog listings of certified training courses, pedagogical tools, and open educational resources (OER).
  • Foster Collaboration: Enable educators and practitioners to share best practices, pedagogical methods, and real-world case studies.
  • Support Innovation: Offer an AI-powered assistant (Toti) to guide users through custom RAG-based searches and intent-based recommendations.
  • Promote Lifelong Learning: Leverage gamified progress indicators, streaks, and unlockable badges to reward continuous professional development.

Consortium & Partners

HUB Digital is a product of the INOV-Norte Consortium, a regional initiative dedicated to digital innovation and regional development in the North of Portugal. The consortium brings together leading academic, scientific, and industrial partners to foster synergies, build capacities, and implement digital-first strategies.

Development & Maintenance

The platform is developed, maintained, and curated by the Centro de Inovação Pedagógica (CIP) of the Instituto Politécnico do Porto (P.PORTO).

The CIP is dedicated to promoting pedagogical quality, technological integration, and innovative teaching-learning strategies across all schools and institutes of P.PORTO. Through continuous research, teacher training programs, and developer-led platforms like HUB Digital, CIP stands at the forefront of educational innovation.

  • Integrated Catalog: A unified search interface to browse certified courses, open tools, pedagogical materials, and reusable resources.
  • Toti (AI Assistant): An advanced agentic AI assistant powered by Langflow, Qdrant vector retrieval, and Large Language Models to answer catalog queries and recommend materials.
  • Gamified Progress: Earn XP, build learning streaks, and unlock badges for submitting resources, completing courses, or contributing to the platform.
  • Bilingual Content: Fully supported in both English and Portuguese to reach a diverse national and international academic community.
